RECAP: Sixth Session of the State FFA Leadership Conference

Session Six, “Legacies of Light,” brought an exciting and emotional evening as members gathered for one of the most anticipated sessions of the 2026 California FFA State Leadership Conference.

State FFA Officers Ryan Taylor and Sophia Camou chaired the session, opening with ceremonies that set the tone for a night of celebration, reflection, and looking ahead to the future of California FFA.

The session kicked off with the FFA Got Talent finalists, highlighting the creativity and talent of members from across the state. Two musical performances took the stage, with the Winters FFA boy band earning the winning title.

The evening then transitioned into a heartfelt retiring address from State FFA Vice President Noah Kamea Stanisai. Reflecting on his year of service, he shared powerful lessons on leadership, resilience, and hope, reminding members, “So when the waters are high, forgive, accept, and trust that even when we lose all hope, an olive branch will be there.”

Energy continued with the regional competition game, musical chairs, where the San Joaquin Region claimed the win, earning three points. This brought San Joaquin to a total of 14 points, maintaining their lead, with the Central Region close behind at 12.

Members also recognized the work of the Nominating Committee before and throughout the course of the conference, whose dedication plays a crucial role in selecting the next team of state officers.

One of the most anticipated moments of the night was the announcement of the 2026–2027 State FFA Officer Candidate Slate, officially introducing the candidates moving forward in the selection process.

State FFA Officer parents were then recognized, honoring the families who have supported and encouraged their students throughout their leadership journeys.

The session continued with the State Officer Candidate Q&A, featuring candidates for sentinel through president. Members had the opportunity to hear directly from each candidate, gaining insight into their experiences, goals, and vision for the future of California FFA.

Session Six concluded with closing ceremonies, leaving members inspired as they reflected on the legacies being built and looked ahead to the final session of the conference on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.
