Overview
The California FFA Press Corps is a program aimed at utilizing the publicity efforts of the state FFA leadership conference to provide experience in public relations and journalism for FFA members. Members selected for the Press Corps will spend time working with the public relations staff of the conference while working in the conference media room. Press Corps participants will also get a chance to work as student reporters during the convention. This is a great opportunity to develop skills, learn about available careers and get hands-on experience.

Eligibility
  1. To be eligible for the Press Corp a FFA member must be planning to attend the State FFA Leadership Conference and complete their conference registration as required by the State FFA Association.

  2. The time commitment for this program is significant. We will try to be as flexible as possible, but students are encouraged to consider schedule conflicts before applying. Delegates, Regional Officers, Nominating Committee Members and State Officer Candidates are not eligible to apply.

  3. Orientation and educational meetings- Press Corps members will be required to attend an orientation on Sunday, April 22 at 6pm.

  4. There will be several training sessions that provide members with an educational experience.

  5. Daily Assignments- Members will receive daily reporting assignments. Members will work together to cover events at the conference from a student's perspective.

  6. Media Room- Students will be scheduled to work in the media room for two hours a day. This will give students exposure to the news media and public relations staff.
