Overview
To join FFA, you must be enrolled in an agriculture course at your school. Contact your school counselor or agriculture teacher to enroll in an agricultural education program and join FFA. If there's not a chapter in your area, see below for how how to start one.

How to Start a Chapter
Public High Schools who wish to offer courses in Agricultural Education may also choose to start a local FFA chapter affiliated with the California State FFA Association and the National FFA Organization.

Ag Ed For All
Originally started in San Antonio, Texas and sponsored by Toyota, the FFA Enhancing Diversity project now focuses on three schools in the Sacramento, CA area. The project concentrates on increasing the number of diverse students participating in FFA and ensuring they have the leadership skills to succeed.

Over 50% of students in Agricultural Education programs are hispanic; 48% are Caucasian and 3% are African-American. 46% of students are female, while females hold a majority of the youth organization's leadership positions. California Ag Ed programs and their FFA Chapters strive to be an inclusive atmosphere that provides an educational home for all students and make a positive difference in their lives.
