Once a leader is comfortable with their own self and self-purpose, they can discover how to work with others and establish common goals. Student discovery of how to work as a team of innovative leaders in their chapter while analyzing program needs and creating a plan of action to create change, is the focus of this conference. This conference is about "WE: how leaders build relationships with others to establish common vision."

Who: Juniors
When: Two Day Event, 8 Conferences in January and February
What: Each student will:
  • Define vision and purpose
  • Understand the 4 Stages of Team Development
  • Establish how to work effectively in a team
  • Practice Conflict Resolution Strategies
  • Conduct a critical analysis of a chapter event using a S.W.O.T. Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats)
  • Create a plan of action for improvement of a chapter event from their chapters Program of Activities
  • Discover methods of establishing buy-in (SPIN-WIIFM) and building support for their chapter project

Juniors: Envision a new FFA!
What could your FFA chapter accomplish if it had the tools and strategies to be truly powerful? Get ready for ALA: "A New Vision". ALA will help students and chapter officers hone in on the purpose and vision of the National FFA Organization as students gain clarity on the fifteen areas of the program of activities in the three divisions of growing leaders, building communities and strengthening agriculture. During this conference chapter members will learn the steps to developing action plans for a chapter project and showcase their idea to other chapters at ALA. Members will leave with dozens of new ideas to enhance their chapter and lead FFA towards "A New Vision"!

Getting Ready for ALA
The 2018 ALA facilitation team, Kayla, Rodrigo, Graciela and Matt are looking for juniors in FFA to join us at the Advanced Leadership Academy. At ALA, we enter as new recruits looking to join the The Agency as its newest set of agents. During training, we will explore how to effectively work on a team, critically analyze our chapter activities, discover how to manage conflict, and create change within our chapters. Click here to get ready for ALA.

This conference is sponsored as a special project of the California FFA Foundation.
