Through FFA programs, members begin to discover their unique talents, their values, and their ambition in life. Programs provide them with the opportunity to travel, discover careers in agriculture, and develop their leadership skills.
Career Development Events
Career opportunities abound within today’s agriculture industry. Career Development Events (CDEs) help students develop the abilities to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a competitive job market.
FFA Awards
FFA has an award to match almost any member’s unique talents and interests. Find a program that interests you, set a goal, and work hard to achieve it. You’ll gain the skills and confidence you need to succeed in all aspects of life.
FFA Degrees
FFA members can earn degrees as they progress through the phases of their leadership, academic and career skills development.
National Delegate
CA FFA sends National Delegates to National FFA Convention annually to serve as the voice for the California FFA Association while at the National FFA Convention.
National FFA Global
FFA Global programs give students and teachers the opportunity to explore the different agricultural practices and cultural in other countries around the world.
Those who participate in global programs:
- Develop a broader perspective as they become more culturally aware.
- Gain a greater understanding of an ever-changing global marketplace.
- Learn about internship and employment opportunities from global industry leaders.
- Develop friendships with diverse groups of people who share a common interest in agriculture.
National FFA Grants
Grants are available from the National FFA Organization to help support FFA chapters, FFA Alumni chapters and students’ supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs).
National FFA Scholarships
The National FFA Organization offers several scholarships to members who plan to further their educations after high school. Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation.
Scholarships are available to match a wide variety skills, experiences, career goals and higher-education plans. Approximately $2 million in scholarship money is available each year.
State Academic Scholarships
The CA FFA Scholarship program is designed to recognize outstanding California FFA members and award students who plan to major in agriculture and attend a four university in the state of California. The California FFA Association with the help of generous sponsors will award over $25,000 in scholarships this year.
State Band, Choir, & Talent
The California State FFA Band, Choir, and Talent is selected annually in the spring prior to the State FFA Leadership Conference. Applicants who are selected will rehearse and perform during the State FFA Leadership Conference general sessions.

State Conference Press Corp
The California FFA Press Corps is a program aimed at utilizing the publicity efforts of the state FFA leadership conference to provide experience in public relations and journalism for FFA members.
State Nominating Committee
Twelve people are seleted each year to serve on the State Officer Nominating Committee. These twelve people evaluate, consider, and slate the candidates for State FFA Office each year.
State Officer Election
State FFA office is a position of leadership, and it is an elected post. The officers are the people who are charged with the responsibility of providing leadership and direction to the organization throughout the school year.
State Sub-Committee Chair
The California FFA Association Delegate Process is an important component of the Annual State FFA Leadership Conference. The sub-committee chair assists the state officers in managing the delegate process
