The new (2010) student entry screen is much slower than the old (one line per student).  Why was this changed?

The Federal/State race and ethnicity requirements changed and due to the complexity of the entry the screen was changed to one screen per student.

Why are some of my students listed as Hispanic/Latino race?  Where did this choice go?

Students copied from 2009 retain the old designation ?Hispanic/Latino? as a race.  This can be edited but cannot be selected since it is no longer valid under the new system (2010) It will take some time to adjust all reports in the R-2 system to work with both the old and new ethnicity/race designations. see: Race/Ethnicity Reporting

Why are some of my students listed as 2 or more races?

Under the new data collection requirements (2010) if a race is not selected it is automatically recorded as 2 or more (per state procedure). 

Why are some of my new students listed twice in the roster?

When adding new students you may have double clicked on the Save or Add More Students buttons.  This causes the data to be sent twice and doubles entries for those students.  To correct this problem, list students by last name and delete duplicate entries.

What do I do if my password is not working.

Contact you regional supervisor for assistance.

Can I sort the Roster?

Yes.  The roster is sorted by last name as a default.  Click on the column heading links to re-sort the roster.

How do I know if my data has been filed?

Under R-2 Reports you can view all the schools that have successfully filed an R-2.  If your school is not listed you may have forgotten to "post".

Can I upload my roster from Excel?

No.  However, your data can be downloaded into Excel after it is entered if you want to use it to create printed lists or mail merge.  Note:  The primary reason for this is then need to check the data for validity and completeness.  This is done by the online entry screen.

Can I add a new student after my roster is filed?

Yes.  Simply add the student and post the roster.  Only the additional student(s) will be posted.

Why are students are missing from my roster?

Use the Print option to view your entire roster.  Students marked with an "*" are posted and will not show up in the maintenance screen.  If you posted by mistake, contact the California FFA for assistance.

I cannot access CalAgEd.

Try from a computer not on your district network.  Sometimes districts will block CalAgEd.org or the secure site used to file R-2 and Roster data.  If you can get in from off campus, contact your district technical support.

Why can't I see all the data in the Maintain Roster form?

Check the version of your browser.  Users with old browsers or very old computers many not be able to properly display the form.  Current versions of Internet Explorer and Netscape can be downloaded for free at: Internet Explorer, Netscape.

How can I get reports for previous years?

Use the option under the Teachers (R-2 teacher data) or FFA Roster for previous years and choose the year you want.  Note:  Data is limited to years that the on-line system has collected data.
